As a director, I strive to create a collaborative and exploratory environment where actors feel confident in advocating for themselves and their ideas. I take inspiration from the theatre I saw while studying abroad in Moscow, Russia by including movement and etude work in order to physically express inner life and heightened circumstances. As a trained actor in the Meisner technique, I like to explore the text through repetition to help open up the play and encourage active listening and authentic responses. Directing for site-specific spaces is joyous, endlessly creative and challenging, and some of the most rewarding work I've done in my life.
